Family sees the journey. Not the rest of your life.
CrewParent Live is made by CrewParent Live LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The app helps family see a crew member’s trip shape and when the house situation changes — on iPhone. It shows schedule and flight-stage status for trips you choose to share. It is not air-traffic control, navigation, or a mid-flight tracking guarantee.
Accounts
You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. Firebase is a Google service; we use it for sign-in, data storage, and server functions. We do not create accounts for children.
What we store
On our servers (Firebase, a Google service): account identity needed to sign in; pilot and follower relationships; published trip and schedule-stage status; invite / share tokens; device tokens used only if you enable push notifications.
Trip and contact details a crew member chooses to add: the crew member’s home address; the crew member’s phone number, so approved family can call, message, or FaceTime them from the app; the layover hotel’s name and address; and the names (and, where the crew member’s schedule includes them, employee numbers) of other crew on their trip, as they appear in the crew member’s schedule.
On your device: nicknames and local display preferences, widget snapshots for the crew member you selected, and other on-device layout that is not required for another user’s account.
Calendars
With your permission, the crew phone may read device calendar / ICS entries that look like crew trips (for example pairing or duty blocks). We use those entries to build the trip surface. iOS gives apps access to all calendars at once. CrewParent Live only looks at the calendar(s) you choose, checks them on your phone for flights, and sends only the trip details you decide to share. Events that aren’t trips never leave your phone. Followers connected through the shared calendar can see calendar changes even if the crew phone is off. To do this, family phones read the crew member’s shared calendar and upload flight watches (the flights to check status for) to our servers.
Airline credentials
We never ask for your airline login.
CrewParent Live only reads your schedule — from Apple Calendar, a calendar file you upload, or trips you enter yourself. We never ask for, see, or store your airline username, password, or crew-portal access.
Flight status
After the crew syncs a trip, we may request flight status from our aviation data provider, FlightAware, so approved followers can see schedule and stage (for example departed, approaching, landed). Those phase updates do not require the crew phone to stay online. Schedule edits from the crew publish when the crew phone can reach the network. We do not promise a continuous mid-flight map track. Contains AeroAPI data © FlightAware LLC 2026. CrewParent Live is not affiliated with FlightAware LLC. FlightAware’s processing of API traffic is governed by FlightAware’s own terms and policies.
Weather
Weather in the app comes from Apple WeatherKit.
Notifications
Push notifications are optional. They are sent through Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. You can turn stage and related alerts on or off. “Nearby” style alerts default off. “Available” / good-time-to-reach status is shown in the app and is also offered as an optional “Available” notification (Settings → Notifications → Available) that you can turn on or off.
Nearby
Nearby is off by default. When it is on, it shares only a first name plus an airport, or an alert that you are at the same hotel, with crew members you follow who also follow you, and only if they have also turned Nearby on.
Widgets
Home Screen widgets read a shared App Group snapshot for the selected crew member’s schedule-stage status. Widgets do not collect a new category of data beyond what the app already shows.
Who can see a trip
Access uses a token invite plus pilot approval. Followers see only what the pilot has published after approval. The pilot can revoke access. Guessing a pairing number is not enough. This version uses token-based share — not an open directory of crews.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and trip data while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can delete your account in the app (Settings). Deletion removes your account data from our systems subject to normal backup and legal limits. A small number of flight-status and Nearby alert records linked to your account may remain after deletion; email [email protected] and we will remove them. If you signed in with Apple, we also attempt to revoke your Sign in with Apple token as part of deletion.
Subscriptions
CrewParent Live offers Individual and Family paid plans, sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment. We don’t see your card number or billing details. The app checks your purchase status only to turn on the features your plan includes.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app’s features are used, such as which screens are opened and which settings are turned on. This information is linked to a device/app identifier, not to your name or email — we do not set a user ID in analytics. We use it only to improve the app, not for advertising, and we don’t use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Crash and performance data
When the app crashes or runs slowly, crash and performance reports may be sent through Firebase Crashlytics and Apple. We use them only to find and fix problems and keep the app stable.
No selling, no ads
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Children
Family View is a display on a parent’s or guardian’s device. We collect nothing from children, and the Service is not directed to children under 13.
What we don’t take
- We don’t make accounts for kids.
- We don’t keep tickets, reservation numbers, jumpseat paperwork, or seat maps.
- We don’t follow the airplane minute by minute as a continuous map track.
- We don’t read the rest of the personal calendar — only trip and duty blocks the crew phone is allowed to share.
How the app may be used is in the Terms.
