Coming Soon to the Apple App Store October 2026

How it works

Set up in a few minutes.

Crew members share their schedule. Family and friends follow along with an invite code.

Getting started

Steps to get started.

  1. Download CrewParent Live

Get it from the App Store, open it, and tap Get Started, then sign in with Apple or Google.

  2. Tell us who you are

Choose Crew if you fly, or Family/Friends if you’re following someone who does. Pick yours below to see your next steps.

Crew steps

  1. Pick your airline

Choose the airline you fly for.

  2. Connect your schedule

We never ask for your airline login.

CrewParent Live only reads your schedule — from Apple Calendar, a calendar file you upload, or trips you enter yourself. We never ask for, see, or store your airline username, password, or crew-portal access.

Ways to load your trips. Pick one:

Apple Calendar sync (recommended) — turn on calendar sync in your airline’s crew app, then let CrewParent Live read that calendar on your iPhone. It updates when your schedule changes, through reassignments, trip trades and more.

Upload a calendar file (.ics) — export your schedule from your crew app and choose the file in CrewParent Live. Upload a new file when your schedule changes.

Enter your trip manually — a quick fallback: copy the whole pairing from your crew app and paste it in, or type one leg.

    Example leg: Pairing D1234 · Flight 1234 · DEN → ORD · departs 0800, arrives 1030 (local times, 24-hour clock).

What your airline offers, step by step: Sync your airline’s calendar →

  3. Pick the calendar with your schedule

If you chose Apple Calendar: allow Full Access to your calendar, then choose the calendar that holds your schedule. iOS gives apps access to all calendars at once. CrewParent Live only looks at the calendar(s) you choose, checks them on your phone for flights, and sends only the trip details you decide to share. Events that aren’t trips never leave your phone.

  4. Choose the trip to share

Pick the trip your family should follow. Usually that’s your current or next trip.

  5. Add your contact details

Enter your phone number for family contact. Add your home airport: your base if you live in base, or the airport you commute from most often if you commute. Add your home address so the app can estimate the drive home.

  6. Invite your family

Send a text with your invite code, which also prompts them to download the app, or copy the code or the invite message and send it yourself. Each follower needs their own invite code. To invite someone later, go to Settings → Crews → Share With Family and tap Generate New Invite Code for each new person.

  7. Go Live!

Your family can now see your trip, your availability, and when you’re heading home.

Family and friends steps

  1. Answer “Do you have a sync code?”

Following needs a Crew Household plan on your phone, unless someone in your Apple Family Sharing group has the Family plan. You may be asked to choose a plan here.

  2. Say who you’re following

Pick the label that fits, like Dad or Mom (choose Other to type a first name). Then add the crew member’s name, or skip it.

  3. Enter the invite code

Type the code your crew member sent, or tap their invite link to fill it in. No code yet? Ask them to send one from Settings → Crews → Share With Family. Each code works for one person and lasts 72 hours.

  4. Wait for approval

Your crew member approves you in Settings → Crews → Followers. Until then, the app shows “Waiting for approval.”

  5. Allow notifications

When asked, allow notifications for takeoff, landing, schedule changes, and the estimated time home. You can change them later in Settings → Notifications & Availability.

  6. See their trip

Once you’re approved, Overview, Live and Family show their trip, when it’s a good time to call, and when they’re heading home.

Calendar sync

Sync your airline schedule.

For crew members. Turn on calendar sync in your airline’s crew app first. CrewParent Live then reads your trips from Apple Calendar. iOS gives apps access to all calendars at once. CrewParent Live only looks at the calendar(s) you choose, checks them on your phone for flights, and sends only the trip details you decide to share. Events that aren’t trips never leave your phone.

  • You’ll connect a calendar — never your airline login.
American (MobileCCI / AA Crew Check In): Calendar Export → save the .ics → choose that file in CrewParent Live. Re-upload when your schedule changes.
Apple Calendar: export from MobileCCI to Calendar on your iPhone, then sync those events in CrewParent Live. When your schedule changes, re-export, then re-sync. It isn’t a live calendar.
Ways to sync: calendar file from MobileCCI (most common), Apple Calendar, or manual entry.
  • You’ll connect a calendar — never your airline login.
Delta (MICREW): tap the three-line menu in the top-left corner, then tap Calendar Sync to export your calendar to iCal.
Ways to sync: Apple Calendar, calendar file (often from MiCrew), or manual entry.
  • You’ll connect a calendar — never your airline login.
Southwest (CrewHUB): tap More in the lower-right corner, then My settings and notifications, then Sync Trips to iCal.
Ways to sync: Apple Calendar or manual entry (paste from CrewHub). Calendar-file upload isn’t offered for Southwest yet.
  • You’ll connect a calendar — never your airline login.
United (CCS+): tap Schedule, then the three dots in the top-right corner, then Settings → Calendar Syncing, and turn Calendar Syncing on. Under Calendar sync settings, choose Include trips and As a single event, and turn on every option under Include Trip Details (trip number, number of days, first report/last release, first departure/last arrival stations, and layovers). CCS+ also links to a guide for adding the calendar to iCal. When you pick the calendar, United schedules come from ccsplus.ual.com.
Ways to sync: Apple Calendar, calendar file from CCS+, or manual entry.

Around the app

Overview

When a call is likely.

The Overview page is a snapshot: availability, the next activity, the layover, and flight and commute-home details. Scroll down for the current or next trip’s schedule.

Alerts

Notifications

Followers choose alerts for schedule changes, takeoff, approach and landing, and an estimate for arriving home. Alerts arrive on the phone, and on a paired Apple Watch, without opening the app. Quiet hours silence alerts during crew rest. Flight times and alerts come from FlightAware and can arrive a few minutes after the event.

More than one crew

Follow more than one crew.

Tap the crew in the top-right corner of the Overview page to switch crews or add another one. You can follow crews at any airline and sort them into groups, like family, your reserve unit or other airlines. This is also where you remove people you no longer want following you.

Family View

For the family at home.

The Family page is made for the youngest family members. You can adjust how it looks in Settings.

Family members see the trip at a glance: where your family's loved one is, when they're heading home, and when it's a good time to call.

Following is included when someone in your Apple Family Sharing group has the Family plan.

Crew members subscribe with an Individual or Family plan through Apple. The Family plan uses Apple Family Sharing, so one purchase covers everyone in your Apple family. Trip updates and flight alerts are part of the subscription.

Settings

Make it yours.

  • Personal information: the trip you display, who you are (Dad, Mom and so on), phone number, airline, address, time zone, kids’ ages for the Family page, and which page the app opens to.

Widgets

Check without opening the app.

Add a CrewParent Live widget to see the selected crew’s first name, current location or trip status, and availability right on your Home Screen. Touch and hold the CrewParent Live app icon, pick the small or large widget from the menu, and place it. You can choose which crew the widget shows. Tap the widget to open the app.
